North Reading will be holding our annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday, September 20, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon at the Richard Spindler Complex (DPW Garage) located at 166 Chestnut Street. This Collection Day is held annually to provide residents of North Reading the opportunity to properly and safely dispose of many types of potentially hazardous waste materials they may have stored in their homes and garages. Please note that the Complex will not be taking leaves, grass clippings or other yard waste during the Household Hazardous Waste

How Can I Safely Transport These Hazardous Materials?
Leave the materials in their original containers.
Tighten caps and lids.
Sort and pack separately: oil paint, pesticides and household cleaners.
Pack containers in sturdy upright boxes.
NEVER MIX CHEMICALS.
Pack your car and drive directly to the drop off site.
NEVER SMOKE when handling hazardous material.
The Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day is open to residents of North Reading. Proof of residency is required.
