FISCAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE SEEKING APPLICANTS
The Town of North Reading is seeking volunteers to serve on the newly created Fiscal Advisory Committee. The Committee is responsible for researching new revenue opportunities and operating efficiencies and reporting its recommendations to the Board of Selectmen. The Committee will report on both fixed and discretionary spending, including costs that significantly impact the municipal and school budgets and give consideration to their impact on future expense trends for the Town of North Reading. Additionally, the Committee will research current municipal and school revenue sources that are being utilized as well as new possible sources of revenue for the Town of North Reading.
The objective of the Committee will be to identify and qualify new revenue and operating efficiencies aimed at restoring and sustaining both municipal and school services within the limits of Proposition 2 ½ by the end of FY2011.
